Happy Lunar New Year

This was Maddie's first Lunar New Year with us.  She loved going to Ba Ngoai Hai's & Ba Ngoai Nam's to wish them a Happy New Year.

Week in Review

This week was our first round of doctors appointments for Maddie.  We found out that she will need surgery next month for the fistula in her mouth.  She has this hole in her month left from the palate surgery.  The surgery will take about 2 1/2 hours and she will also get ear tubes put in.  The ear tubes should fall out in 15 months.  This little girl has taught me the meaning of strength.  She has been through so much already in her little life and now she will go through another surgery.  But this time she has a family there to support her and love her.  

This week had some fun in it too.  We took Maddie to Ikea to pick up a table and 2 chairs.  Maddie helped (supervised) Daddy in putting it together.

Thanks to Godpapa Dung, we found a way to keep her entertain when we need to do something with Yo Gabba Gabba.  Daddy usually snuggles on the couch with her and sing/dance along.  Ba Ngoai Hai made the cute soft sweater she is wearing.

16 Months

Madeline turned 16 months today and it's been a month since she officially became ours!  

Milestones:

• She's walking around 
• Is sleeping alone the whole night from 8pm to 8am
• In the morning when she walks she looks at us and says "hi"!
• She loves to bring a book to either of us to be read to
• Still a great eater
• Can blow a kiss, show you her bellybutton & wave hi.
• Loves to listen to music and dance (favorite show: Yo Gabba Gabba) 

She's brought such joy into our lives and we can't remember a moment without her.

 

Happy New Year

This weekend we took Maddie on her first road trip to Orlando.  She was a good traveler and we had lots of fun.

New Year's Eve we had a great dinner at Carrabba's.  Maddie enjoyed spaghetti & meatballs and socializing with others around her.  This New Year Eve was the first year we ate at 6pm and was in bed by 9pm.
