1st Haircut

Maddie got her 1st haircut this week.  She was scared to sit in the chair by herself, so she sat on mama's lap during the whole haircut.  After the haircut she was running around and happy with her new do!

Maddie had ear tubes put in on Friday.  The procedure took about 15 minutes and she was back to normal within an hour of waking up.  The ear tubes will stay in there for hopefully 15 months and will fall out.  And after this little procedure we don't have anymore surgeries for Maddie until she is around 5 or 6.  Wahoo!

We have seen such a difference in her already.  She is happier than usually and seem to be hearing a new world.  Her speech is easier to understand and will only get better from here.

We wanted to share some photos of her we took last week.  Ba Ngoai's friend gave Maddie this adorable bike w/ helmet and Maddie of course had to get on it.

Morning Walk

Maddie is turning into mommy's little helper.  Her new favorite thing to do is walk Lucy or Lulu as she calls her.  She is very patient with the many stops Lucy makes along the way.  They both have a special relationship were Maddie will share her food with Lucy (we are trying to stop that) and she always wants to snuggle with Lucy.  Lucy seems to tolerate it all because she knows Maddie is here to stay.

Milestone: we were finally able to keep a hat on her precious head!

We just came back from another road trip with our friends to Gulfport, MS.  Maddie is an excellent traveler!  We kicked off her shoes and put on a great movie (Tangled, Tinkerbell #3 and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) and we were set to go.  It was also our first time leaving her with someone else besides family for a couple of hours.  Andrew & Sylvia took her to the pool, out to eat and we got the best reviews back.  We were told that they would gladly babysit Maddie again.

This photo was taken after being the pool with the Aunt Sylvia and the kids.  This was all her, just relaxing after the pool.

We got lots of looks and "oh how cute" as Maddie pulled her own bag throughout the hotel.  She was very focused and didn't want to let go of her prize possessions. (i.e. books & toys) LOL

And I couldn't resist taking some photos of her relaxing in a drawer with Moo!
